Timed Events allow you to automatically apply price changes or product actions for a specific period of time in your POS system. They are commonly used for promotions, discounts, surcharges, happy hours, seasonal pricing, or temporarily activating/deactivating products.

Once configured, a timed event will start and end automatically based on the selected date and time, removing the need for manual intervention.

What Can Timed Events Do?

Timed Events can perform the following actions:

Change product prices (fixed or percentage-based)

Increase or reduce prices temporarily

Activate or deactivate products automatically

Apply changes to specific products, tags, or branches

Creating a Timed Event

When creating a timed event, you will need to configure the following fields:

1. Name

A descriptive name for the event (e.g., Weekend Discount, Holiday Price Increase).

2. Type

Defines what action the timed event will perform. The available types are:

Pricing Actions

Set Fixed Price

Reduce Price by Fixed Amount
Subtracts a fixed amount from the product’s current price.

Reduce Price by Percentage Amount
Applies a percentage discount to the product price.

Increase Price by Fixed Amount

⚠️ The Amount field behavior depends on the selected type (currency or percentage).

3. Amount

Required for price-related event types

Enter:

A percentage value for percentage-based changes

4. Branches

Select the branches where the timed event will apply.
This allows you to run different promotions in different locations.

Select individual products

Select products by tags (e.g., White Meat, Beverages)

6. Start Date & Start Time

Defines when the timed event begins.

7. End Date & End Time

9. Priority

Used when multiple timed events overlap:

Higher priority events take precedence over lower priority ones

Default priority is 0

How Timed Events Work

Timed events are checked automatically by the system

Once the start time is reached, the event is applied instantly

Once the end time is reached, all changes are automatically reverted

No manual action is required after setup
