Charges

Charges allow you to apply additional fees (e.g. service charge, packaging, delivery) to POS orders based on defined rules.

Charge Applicability

A charge is applied only when all selected criteria match:

Order Type (Dine In, Take Away, Drive Through, Delivery)

Branch (specific branches or all)

Taxes (applied only to the charge amount)

Execution Mode

Auto Applied

When enabled, the charge is added automatically if criteria match.

When disabled, the charge must be added manually in POS.

Charge Calculation Timing

Charge Before Tax — Disabled (Default)

The charge is calculated after invoice tax.

Calculation

Invoice Total (including tax) + Charge + Charge Tax

Example

Subtotal: 100

Invoice Tax (15%): 15 → Invoice Total = 115

Charge (20%): 23

Charge Tax (15%): 3.45

Final Total: 115 + 26.45 = 141.45

Charge Before Tax — Enabled

The charge is calculated before invoice tax.

Calculation

Invoice Subtotal (without tax) + Charge + Charge Tax + Original Invoice Tax

Example

Subtotal: 100

Invoice Tax (15%): 15

Charge (20%): 20

Charge Tax (15%): 3

Final Total: 100 + 23 + 15 = 138

Tax-Inclusive Prices (Important)

If item prices include tax, Flovix automatically extracts the base value before tax to calculate charges correctly.

Example

Displayed price (tax inclusive): 115

Tax rate: 15%

Base value  115 ÷ 1.15 = 100

Charges are always calculated on the pre-tax value, not the displayed price.

Key Notes

Taxes selected here apply only to the charge, not to items.

Enabling Charge Before Tax changes invoice totals significantly.

Incorrect configuration may result in overcharging customers.

Best Practice

Use Charge Before Tax for predictable billing.

Use After Tax only when business policy requires margin on tax.

Always verify tax-inclusive items before enabling percentage charges.
